Welcome to Green Light Indie!
Hello! I’m a college student on the edge of graduation (cue Lady Gaga) moving through the murky realms of my university to obtain a degree in English Writing with a minor in Classical Studies. I live in New Orleans and aspire to be both a musician and writer professionally. I am a part of Skeletons in the Crawlspace, which is basically a very low-key, post-metal band. I love nearly all genres of music (except for radio country pop and Bieber) and would like to use this blog to share my love of indie music, since I so often find this genre prevalent in New Orleans. Metal bands are a little harder to find here.
I have always had a dual love of music, lyrics and all things language. I’ll be sharing new indie songs and albums that come out, and giving you reviews on local indie shows on occasion. As for literature, I’ll be sharing some great literature quotes, news, and reviews. I will also give you a song or album that I think goes well with the writing that I review, because who doesn’t want a great song to listen to while they read? Well, maybe not all of us. But for those of you that do, knock yourselves out.
Please feel free to leave comments telling me what you think about the writing or songs that I’m posting, and whether you agree or disagree with my reviews and opinions. I would really like to hear any suggestions you have for future posts as well. You can also e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or comments. I’d love to hear from you! Whether it be remarks about what I’m posting, or questions about the music and literature scene in New Orleans, I’m all for it. Thank you for visiting.
